For the last charity quilt I did not feel like anything major and decided to just put an allover meander over it. Then I remembered having watched an Amanda Murphy video on FB where she uses the Star template to spruce up her meander. Decided to give that a go to make it a bit more interesting and to see how this would flow when doing the meander.

I am running behind in the the quilting of the charity quilts. Have four more to go before I pick up new quilt tops, so I am really knuckling down trying to get this done (hopefully by mid - August). Very much in the mood for ruler quilting and the next quilt top presented the perfect opportunity to do some Baptist fans again.

Remembered that I looked at other ones at the time ... read moreI thought I do a little post on how I go about quilting the Baptist Fan over a lap sized quilt (54 x 60in) using my new rulers from Michael Quilts. Hopefully someone will find this useful and take the plunge in terms of trying this out on one of their quilts.
I loved the Starry Night pattern, but I wanted to use some of my lighter floral Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics, so I teamed my fabrics with Tula Pink's pastel solids for this pattern and I love the result.
The Cactus Flower print has some great motifs that are just crying out to feature in large blocks like these.
